We have released 0.8.0, a new version of Social Stream. It comes with full support of the new version of Ruby on Rails and its asset pipeline. Try it!
We have started the 0.6 series, which come with a lot of new features. The most striking of them is provided by social_stream-documents, the module that gives support for file upload. It also supports pictures, audio and videos, converting them to several formats for HTML5 streaming.
Social Stream was presented at the Federated Social Web summit 2011. It was a wonderful event, with a lot of smart people doing very interesting things and discussing cutting edge ideas.
We have released Social Stream 0.5. In this version, we have splited the basic functionality in social_stream-base gem. It provides two types of actors: users and groups, and two basic types of activity objects: posts and comments.
This release of Social Stream comes with several changes in database schema. We are putting the final to the schema so next releases of Social Stream do not need to alter the data in the database. Only 2 screens (edit relation types and adding contact) are left.
We are working hard to get a stable version withing the next weeks. The goal is freezing the basic functionality and the database schema, so other applications can be built on the top of Social Stream.
