We have suffered from some dependency problems in recent versions of Social Stream, due to an obsolete dependency. Bundler took a long time to run, and when it finished, it installed a very old version ’0.0.5′!
SocialStream 0.14 comes with the fist version of link posting. Try it on the demo site!
Smart link posting is the next big thing in Social Stream. Roendal is working on Linkser, a Ruby library that parses URIs and extracts the most relevant information from the resource behind the URI. This is the same functionality already achieved by Facebook, (see their debugger).
Social Stream 0.12 comes with a new version of the document’s repository, social_stream-documents 0.4. A little fix is required for your already stored documents in production. Just run this two lines and you are done!
Social Stream 0.10 comes with a new component, social_stream-events. It provides support for top-class videoconference events, with agenda, sessions and speakers. This is the area of expertise of our research group GING at Technical University of Madrid.
We just finished the merge of the social_stream-* repositories on Github into social_stream.
Devise, the awesome authentication Rails engine used by Social Stream, changed the default HTTP method form GET to DELETE.This broke the installation of brand new applications, as was reported by Joey.
